With a little free time and inspiration, anyone can create a beautiful DIY spring bouquet.
Step One - DIY Bouquet Supplies
|BloomsbytheBox Wildflower Pack - $190.64|
To save even more, consider using some of the beautiful flowers in season in the spring including; Narcissus (commonly known as daffodils and available in multiple varieties), Hyacinth, Freesia (red, yellow, or pink with a sweet citrus scent), Iris (available in a multitude of colors), Paper whites, Star of Bethlehem, Sweet Pea, Alstromeria, Calla lillies, Cornflower, Delphimium, Gerbera daisies, Lilac, Lillies, Lisianthus, Peonies, Ranunculus, Roses, Snap Dragon, Stock, & Sunflowers.
You'll also need some other basic supplies including; floral shears, floral tape, bouquet or straight head pins, and a floral wrap of some kind, for example ribbon in your wedding colors.
Start with removing all all the foliage from the stems of your flowers along with any thorns if you're including roses.
Cut your flowers to around the same length & sort them separately on a clean surface.
Step Three - Assembling the Arrangement
Two to three of your most stunning flowers will make up the base of the bouquet. Bunch the stems together, wrap with floral tape around one and a half inches above where you begin and around five inches of exposed stem below where you stop.
Position flowers and fillers around your base, facing it towards yourself occasionally and turning it to create the round shape you're looking for, and wrap with floral tape or thin wire as needed.
Wrap your bouquet with floral tape along the length you plan to wrap with fabric or ribbon.
Take the ribbon you've chose and wrap the stems a little above & below where you've wrapped with floral tape - securing with bouquet pins as you go.
Trim your stems even once again and either place in water before the wedding and/or run the stems under cool water for a moment before the event.
